PHAGWARA: Final year B Tech Computer Science and Engineering student of Lovely Professional University, Tanya Arora has got a Rs 42-lakh job offer from Microsoft. 
A varsity release stated that this was the highest job offer received by an engineering fresher in the region for the year 2019.
Tanya has been offered the role of software engineer at Microsoft’s India R&D center in Hyderabad.
 “I am excited to get the opportunity to work with Microsoft,” a jubilant Tanya said.
“I did my summer internship at the company and had a great experience… I always had a deep interest in technology, and have worked hard to stay on top of emerging trends including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.”
Sharing about her life at LPU, she said: “In this journey of success, I have been benefitted immensely from my peers at LPU, several of whom are equally technology savvy. I am thankful to my alma mater LPU that provided me an invigorating and career-focused learning environment. I also want to acknowledge that my teachers and mentors at LPU also guided and helped me at every turn.” 
Congratulating the rare-achiever and hard-working Tanya, LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal said, “We are proud of Tanya, who has received prestigious job offer from Microsoft. I hope that other students at LPU will also follow Tanya and bring glory to themselves, parents, nation and alma-mater”.
LPU’s School of Computer Science and Engineering is one of the best performing schools in the country. Based on the performance in the test, students can get a scholarship up to Rs 5.4 lakh. For the year 2020 admissions, LPU will conduct NEST test in two phases – in January and April 2020 – according to the newly introduced CBSE’s JEE pattern.
